West Wing is one of my favorite trails here in the NW Valley. It is super close and easy to get to, and it has the most dynamic ‘mountain’ experience as well.
This is a pretty intense hike, but the views & rock formations at the peak are worth the effort. We’ve done this trail a few times and we always have a great time.

Summary from AllTrails (link):
West Wing Mountain Loop starting at Westwing Park in Peoria, AZ. This loop includes the marked "loop" of 3.1 miles plus additional spurs to scenic views, alternative "extreme" route and short access from parking lot to official start. Trail is rocky due to volcanic basalt and tuff. Great neighborhood trail.
Length: 3.7 miles
Elevation Gain: 793 feet
Estimated time: 2-2.5 hours
Type: Loop
You can cut about a half mile off the total hike by parking in the neighborhood, but you may have to deal with a grumpy homeowner. YMMV
