September is always that summer month that doesn’t seem like it should still be summer, at least here in Phoenix anyways.

If you’re from somewhere else, there is a good chance the wwather in September is some of the best of the year. Here in Phoenix though, it is still stupid hot no matter how bad I want to wear a hoodie.

In this week’s edition:

  • Triple header trail rescues…

  • Do you know about the 10 essentials of hiking?

  • Arrowhead Point Trail

Thank you for being here, have an amazing week! 🙏

Three mountain rescues in an hour

Phoenix firefighters were called to three different hiker rescues within an hour on Sunday morning.

The first was at the Dreamy Draw, following by Cholla Trail on Camelback, and finally at Deem Hills in North Phoenix.

It is definitely cooler these days, but that doesn’t mean there is no risk heading out on the trails. Please be careful out there!

Arrowhead Point Trail

Thunderbird Conservation Park is a hidden gem in the northwest part of Phoenix. It doesn’t have any of the trendy hikes like Piestawa Peak or Camelback, but it does have several fun hikes that are easy to get to and have some amazing views.

Arrowhead Point Trail is a solid workout, that doesn’t take all day to enjoy. (link)
